KUALA LUMPUR (17 January): Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) has been awarded an RM218.76 million contract to construct a 50 MW solar power plant in the Perak province’s Kampar district.

According to a bourse filing by SunCon, the group’s wholly owned subsidiary Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, has received the letter of award from Gopeng Bhd’s subsidiary GBS Suria Sdn Bhd.

Given that Fortuna Gembira Enterpris Sdn Bhd, an indirect subsidiary of Sunway Bhd, is the largest shareholder in Gopeng, the agreement is regarded as a related party transaction.
