PDC’s Rumah Bakat Baru Madani secures approval in just 36 days

Penang Development Corporation (PDC) CEO Dato’ Aziz Bakar has announced a major milestone for the Rumah Bakat Baru Madani affordable housing project. The project received planning approval in just 36 days, making it the fastest-approved housing project in Malaysia.

Initially aiming for approval within 40 days, PDC successfully secured it four days ahead of schedule. The project, set to launch in March 2024, marks the first of its kind in Penang and nationwide.

“This housing initiative introduces a completely new concept, which posed challenges in meeting various regulatory requirements,” said Dato’ Aziz. Adjustments were necessary to align with existing guidelines, ensuring smooth implementation.

The Rumah Bakat Baru Madani project comprises 31,000 residential units across Seberang Jaya and Batu Kawan. The development will include modern facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, multipurpose hall, and playground.

Dato’ Aziz made this announcement during PDC Chinese New Year open house, emphasizing the corporation’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in housing development.
